We decided to begin rehearsing again in 2021 as the pandemic appeared to be residing, putting together a set of relatively low impact material without vocals. Instrumentals, broadly speaking, though some did have narrative areas. Several pieces were brand new.

Sadly, the three gigs we managed to book for the fall collapsed into the sunset (one due to my amp blowing up in rehearsal late summer) so Ben suggested we set up mics in the basement and simply capture what we had accomplished for the year.

We were particularly happy with the newer material and especially happy with the version of ‘STERS (both agreeing it sounded more like the original band than anything we’d yet managed as this new millennium's paired down incarnation of Empool.)
